At the top of the structure of the Catholic Church was the pope. The lowest of the structure were the monks and nuns who worked in the monasteries. Abbots who were above them, reported and worked for the bishops who were under the cardinals. The few cardinals served the only one pope at that time. The Church at that time became rich and filled with royalty due to donations of things such as land, jewelry and money from rich and noble people as acts of penance. The Church also got money from teaching noble children and through payment because of sacraments. Lords also shared in with this wealth by appointing some of their relatives as abbot or bishops. And those abbots received meals from the lords and as well as rich clothes and jewelry. Many abbots and bishops recalled all over areas of land to reform. During those times, leaders of the Church were not corruptive or careless.

Then there were the bishops and finally the abbots. Abbots and Bishops were fairly wealthy but still had to do something to get land from the king. Instead of fighting like they were supposed to do, they shared their land with knights. They got their money by donations to the church, educating chhildren, and performing sacraments like, baptism and mariage. To be a part of this good life lords put relatives in the position of a local abbot or bishop. Luckily, not all abbots or bishops were this corrupt.

On top of the class was was god. Then it was the pope. There was only one. Then the cardinals served the pope. There was a few cardinals. Next was there are Bishops. The bishops reported to the cardinals. Then after that came the Abbots. Most abbots and bishops came from noble families. They received land from kings in exchange for military service. But they could not fight. They were religious leaders. They gave some of there land to knights to fight in their place

The power of the Church also had a special structure.
At the top of local monasteries were the abbots and bishops. Both had great power over people. The abbots reported to the bishops and the Bishops to the cardinals. There was only one pope at the time and very few cardinals. The Pope was the main person that served to god. Abbots and Bishops served as religious leaders and came from noble families. The church was finacially supported through donations made from nobles.

On the top of the heap locally, abbots and bishops had great power. In a monastery, the monks would do the work, and the abbots and bishops were the power. The Abbots would report the bishops. The Bishops would report cardinals. There were some cardinals, and only one pope. The cardinals serves the pope, and the pope would serve to God. Mostly the abbots and bishops came from noble families. They received land from kings in exchange for military service.

Power and Structure of The Middle Ages Church.

The head of the church, the one that was above everyone was the Pope. There was only one pope. Then the cardinals came. Then the Bishops, the Abbots, and then came monks. The monks did the work at the monastery. And the Pope served God.
The Abbots and the Bishops usually came from a noble family. These were religious leaders. They received land from the king, in exchange for military service but they didn’t fight. Instead they gave that land to knights so they could be able to fight for that land.  
The church was always receiving donations from them people. They received land, jewelry, and money. And the Nobel families paid the church so they could educate their children.  The lords wanted the church to be able to share the wealth with their relatives. So many lords’ relatives became bishops, and a abbots. These bishops and abbots would wear expensive robes, they wore jewelry. All of this was happening while, the people in the village were hungry, and barely had enough food to eat. Luckily not all of the religious leaders were ambitious. Many of them wanted a reform (a reform is to change something y making it better and removing the mistakes [in the case the church]).

The structure of the Catholic Church began with Monks who did all the Work. Their superior were the abbots who came from Noble families and had great power in local Monastery's.  The Bishops also had great power and Abbots reported to bishops.Bishops reported to cardinals. They were not many Cardinals but they were very powerful . The person who had the most power of all is the Pope. Abbots and bishops received land from kings in exchange for military service. But they could not fight.The church received donations of land, jewelry, and money from nobles as acts of penance. Nobles paid the church to educate their children. Everyone paid the church for various sacraments.

Like in all societies there are social classes that relate to the way in which people in groups behave and interact. Underneath the kings and lords on the feudalism pyramid is men and women of the church. The abbots which were monks in charge of a monastery and bishops had the greatest amount of power. Abbots reported to bishops, and bishops reported to cardinals. Cardinals in the Roman Catholic Church, are one of the groups of clergy, and next in rank to the pope, who elect the pope from their own number and act as his advisers. There were only a few cardinals, and only one pope. The cardinals served the pope, and the pope served God. Your status on the feudalism pyramid was usually inherited, most people in the church community came from noble families. They received land from kings in exchange for military service. Since they were religious leaders and not able to fight, in exchange they would give some of their land to knights to fight in their place.

Just like social classes in society there are power classes in systems such as military, church, or just a normal store. During medieval times people were very religious. And in church there were people with the most power at top and the least on the bottom. In a local church the lowest on the pyramid were the monks. The ones above them were the abbots. The abbots had to respond to the bishops who where the top dog in the local area. The one's above the bishops were the cardinals. Then the only person they responded to was the pope. And the only person.....well being..... above the pope was God.

At the top of the catholic church structure was God. Then came the Pop who had to serve God.  Abbots and bishops had great power bu twerrent as close to the top as the cardinals were. Only a few cardinal were located in the monasteries. the cardinals served the Pope. The Cardinals were served by the Bishop and the Bishops were in charge of the abbots. Abbots and Bishops usually came from noble families, they recieved land from the king in exchange for military service. They didnt fight because they were religious leaders but they would give their land to kight who would pledge themselves as vassals. Although many religious leaders wercarless not all of them were. Some abbots and bishops wanted the reform to happen.
