Just like Alexander the Great, Chandragupta began with almost no army. Chandragupta created his empire. After Alexander the Great had left Gandhara, Chandragupta took charge and conquered the whole Indus River Valley. He also conquered Gandhara and Arachosia. Along with Kautilya, Chandragupta created the first unified state in Indian history. They were unified because Chandragupta maintained a strong army, while Kautilya created a government. The laws that were created were mostly harsh ones whose penalty included death.

In c.a. 273 the third Mauryan ruler came into control. The third Mauryan rulers name was Asoka. Asoka ruled the Mauryan Empire from c.a. 273 till 232 B.C.  He is considered to be one of the most famous rulers in Indian history. He supported Buddhism and in 254 B.C he had monuments that represented Buddhism built. Asoka built 84,000 pillars to show the teachings of the Buddha.

In 303BC, Chandragupta Maurya gained control of a huge area from the Bengal in the east to Afghanistan in the west and as down as the Narmada River. While he built his empire by himself personally, his adviser Kautilya built the government. Together they build India's first unified state. Their government was very strict and harsh that were often regulated to economic activity. Asoka lived from 272BC to 232BC. Once he rose toward the throne, he then set out to control the est of the subcontinent. He converted to Buddhism during the conquering of Kalinga. After converting, he ended war and spread out his Buddhist beliefs. One huge achievement that he made was that he sent Buddhist monks in every direction to place on missions of conversion. he was one of the last great kings of the Mauryan Empire and then the first empire of India came to an end.

Chandragupta Mayrya was more then an adventurer rather than a king.  He began with almost no army. He only had this army that he seized. It was the region of Magadha which is south of the lower Ganges. He slowley conquered the whole of the Ganges basin. Chandragupta Maurya had started his empire. When Alexander the Great left from Gandhara, he quickly conquered the whole of the Indus Valley, and eventually gained Gandhara and Arachosia while he was marching west.

Ashoka was the third Mauryan Empire. He is one of the most famous rulers in Indian history. He supported Buddhism. In 254 BC, Ashoka had edicts carved into rocks and caves scattered around his empire. They mostley near the borders so people that were about to enter his empire, would know what they could and cant do.They stood tall at 32 feet high.  Ashoka also made the 84,000 stupas to enshrine the relics of the Buddha and key events of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism.

Chandragupta, also known as Sandracotta to the Greeks, began with an almost nonexistent army like Alexander the Great. With the army that he had, he conquered Magadha which is south of the lower Ganges Basin. Then he slowly conquered the whole Ganges region. That was the start of Chandragupta Maurya’s empire. Chandragupta took advantage of the power of getting into India when Alexander the Great left Gandhara. He quickly conquered the Indus River Valley and eventually conquered Gandhara and Arachosia after he defeated the Greek rulers of Persia and Bactria, the Seleucids. Chandragupta built his empire by force. While he was doing that, Kautilya built the government.

Asoka is one of the great rulers of the Maurya Empire. The most information that was collected was during his reign. He kept records using edicts which give us a good idea of what the writing and language was during his reign. When Asoka became king, he started a campaign on conquering the rest of the subcontinent which included the Dravidian regions and the Kalinga region. Asoka was shaken after the conquest of Kalinga. He was so shaken; he went through a religious conversion. He converted to a Buddhist and was determined to gain the “middle way” of Buddhism. Buddhist monks, who were under Asoka, were sent to Tibet, Burma, Nepal, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, and Isreal.

Ashoka is one of the most important rulers in the indian history. The support of Buddhism is often liked to the impact of the Roman emperor Constantine the Great's acceptance of Christianity in 313 A.D. Beginning in 254 B.C., Ashoka had some monumental ideas on Buddhism carved into rocks and caves throughout his empire. One record in his sending of religious envoys with no resonable result to the Greek rulers of Syria, Egypt, Macedonia, Cyrene, and Epirus. Thirteen years later, he issued seven additional edicts carved into strategically placed polished sandstone pillars. One of the best preserved, at Lauriya Nandagarh in Bihar, stands thirty-two feet high and is capped by a seated lion. Ashoka is also credited with building 84,000 stupas to enshrine the relics of the Buddha and commemorate key events in the life of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism.

Ashoka was the third Mauryan emperor. He was considered to be one of the most famous rulers in Indian history. He spread Buddhism all over India and built religious Buddhist monuments throughout his empire. He built universities for study, water transit and irrigation systems for trade and agrivulture. Ashoka left behind the first written language in India. Although he spread Buddhism he found out that violence and justice was also need. He made less cruel laws but they still involved harsh punishments such as execution. His greatest achievement was cultural for the huge spread of Buddhism.

After Alexander the Great left from Gandhera, Charagupta decided to march westward. He happened to conquer whole of the Indus Valley. He received enough help. He was the one building the army, and Kautilya has designed the government. Kautilya and Chandragupta created highly strict economic activities. The laws appeared to be harsh as well, people were forced to face death penalties if any big law was broken.

Ashoka was known for building 84,000 stupas. He was one of the greatest conquering kings of the Mauryan Empire. He kept a good track of his edicts, which gave an excellent source for the history back then. The most important regions that Ashoka wanted to conquer were the Dravidian regions that were located far in the south. Another most important region was the Kalinga that was located in North India. It was a big shock for Asoka after conquering Kalinga.

After Alexander The Great conquered the northern part of India and left, Chandragupta Maurya came and took over. With army he seized the region of Magadha, he made his empire. Using the roads made by Alex, Chandragupta sent his army and he soon conquered more of India. Conquering all of India with his force, his Brahman Kautilya built his empire. Chandragupta and Kuatilya together created the first unified state in Indian history. The third Mauryan emperor, Ashoka, also ruled with force, until he then converted to Buddhism. THE 2ND WEBSITE DID NOT WORK SO I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT ASOKA FROM WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED.

Asoka was a man who dedicated his life to buddhism but battle in Kalinga in 262 BCE. he had a major cobflict because he had to show pwer and firmness but when you are the relgion of buddhism they do not believe in fighting and wrong doing so he had to find ways to be both at the same time.

Asoka was known as one of the greatest conquering kings of the Mauryan Empire.  Asoka would keep careful files of his life.  Asoka converted to Buddhism when he figured out that the Buddhist way of life was a way out of his "crisis".
Asoka wanted to change the state with non violent laws.  But, he found that some levels of violence are necessary.  He demanded religious toleration.  By the start of the Gupta dynasty, India was vegetarian and no laws carried to the death penalty.
Chandragupta was more of an adventurer than a king.  He was like Alex the great in many ways.  He conquered the Indus valley and gained back Gandara and Arachosia.

Chandragupta Maurya gained control of a big area that started from Bengal in the east to Afghanistan in the west and as far south as the Narmada River. This was astonishing because he had started with no army then he started one and conquered all these other empires. They say that most of his success was based on his mentor  Kautilya (also known as Chanakya). Kautilya and chandragupta worked hand in hand in forming the empire. Together they created the first unified state in Indian history. The government Kautilya and Chandragupta created strictly regulated economic activities. The laws were harsh and the death penalty was applied to a myriad of offenses.

The third Mauryan emperor is Ashoka who is one of the most famous rulers in Indian history. He is known for supporting and converting into Buddhism. He started to carve monument's supporting Buddhisms. One monument that he has created is still standing its an 84,000 stupas to enshrine the relics of the Buddha. It commemorate the key events in the life of Siddhartha Gautama, who is the founder of Buddhism.

sorry that i'm putting this on the blog but it is the only way that at the moment i can get it to you today this is my risk project

You have finally become pope, john paul the second. After your success you need to dicide how to help the world with your new power, the power that gives hope. You are not yet able to dicide what to do. After a while however you think of two ideas. The fist one is to travel the world and inspire people like that. The second idea you have is to inspire people by staying heavely gaurded at all times be less active in public and show people how to stay safe yourself from the safty of you own home.
If you travel the world turn to page 5B.
If you go with the second choice go to page 5A.

   Page 5A
You have stayed in the safty of your home and are considered a bad pope. Days later people were sent to assassinate you and the killed you. You are now dead.
  Page 5B
You have chosen to travel the world. You are considered a good pope by most people of the world. As time moves on you eventually get shot!fortunetly you have not been killed but it was a possible disaster for you and the peoples hopes. You have now expearenced a life threatining event what will you do now will you tighten your protection at the price of being able to be as active with people. Or will you coninue to stay active with people without tightining your protection.
If you tighten your security go to page 6A.
If you continue what you are doing then turn to page 6B.

Page 6A
You have tightened your security congradulations. With this you live to old age nd eventualy die from a diesies.

Page 6B
You have continued what you have been doing. Unfortunetly that opened you up to more attacks, because after some amount of time you forgot about the risks involved and because of your arogence you got shot and died.

And since Asoka kept careful records of his writings, there is more information about him.
