The Islamic Empire began  in the Arabian Peninsula in the early 7th century CE. Then it spread throughout the Middle East before moving across North Africa, and into Spain and Sicily. The reasons for the success of Islam was due to the strength of the Arab armies, the use of a common language, and fair treatment of conquered peoples. Islamic rulers welcomed conversion to the Islamic faith.  All Muslims must learn Arabic, so they can read the slamic holy book,the Quran. This common language helped to unite many different ethnic groups within the Islamic empire. Islam did not lose power in Spain until the end of the 15th century during the Reconquista.

In the Islamic empire the scholars studied both Greek and indian mathematics. In the empire the sholars were also skilled i astronamy. they studied many things such as the rotation of the planets, and also the calculations to the circumfrence of the earth to within a few thousand feet.
The Islamic empire had a lso laws that were very important. The laws were developed from the Qur'an. The book of laws is calle dtehe Sharia. This book regulates on all the aspects of life including, moral behavior, family life, including business dealings, and government.    

  The now second most popular religon in the world is the Islamic religion. Islam started in the Arabian Peninsula during the early seventh century. During this time the Islam culture had began blending with other types of traditions. These traditions were the Arabic , Persian, Egyptian, and European which are the places were it had speard to. This united the Islamic Empire and reduced the possibilities of conflict. When the Islamic Empire went through the Abbassid Dynasty they had a golden age. The golden age occurred in the 8th century till the 13th century. The Islamic Empire contributed to many achievements used today. For example in Islam they had separate trauma cases in hospitals. This inspired emergency room used today in every hospital. In the 15th century the Islamic Empire lost power over Spain since the reconquista was going on.

THE STRENGTH OF THE ARAB ARMIES, COMMON LANGUAGE AND FAIR TREATMENT OF CONQUERED PEOPLE WAS THE REASON FOR  SUCCESS OF THE ISLAM. THE COMMON LANGUAGE OF ARABIC HE;PED UNITE MANY DIFFERENT ETHNIC GROUPS IN THE ISLAMIC EMPIRE. ARAB ARMIES QUICKLY CONQUERED TERRITORIES THROUGH EMPLOYMENT OF HORSE AND CAMEL CALVARY. THE ABBASSID DYNASTY RULED FROM THE MID 8TH CENTURY TO THE MID 13TH CENTURY. THIS DYNASTY WAS UNDER THE ABBASSID, ISLAMIC CULTURE BLENDING WITH THE ARAB, PERSIAN, EGYPTIAN AND EUROPEAN TRADITIONS. ISLAM LOST POWER IN THE 15TH CENTURY DURING THE RECONQUISTA WHICH WAS THE RE CONQUEST OF SPAIN BY THE CHRISTIANS AFTER CENTURIES OF ISLAMIC DOMNIATIONS.
