I'm pretty sure that the archives section begins automatically after you begin blogging. A new blog with no posts will not have an archival section, but once you begin posting, each month an archive will automatically appear. For example, for months I did not post there was no archive. There is an archive on this page, it's just lower down on the right because there are more links.

I think you are correct. It archives automatically.

It seems that when I post homework, it eventually becomes archived; unfortunately, it then disappears from its original place -- the homework "Post Category."  Now, students must search through the "Archive" if they wish to make-up homework that is long overdue (a daunting task).

Is there any way I can modify these settings so that info can go into the "Archive" and also remain in the "Post Category"?   Or rather, how can I disable the "Archive" altogether?
